Our Mission:
To enhance the quality of life for all citizens of St. Thomas by attracting, retaining and growing our industrial business and tourism sectors while fostering entrepreneurship in our community. The Economic Development Corporation promotes St. Thomas as an attractive location in which to build new ideas by assisting both existing and prospective businesses in the actual process of choosing a location, growing in the community, securing government funding and entering the local market. The mandate of the EDC includes the management of Railway City Tourism, The Horton Farmers' Market, and the Elgin/St. Thomas Small Business Enterprise Centre. |
Services include, but are not limited to:
|
Community Building
We approach economic development from the direction of overall community well-being and engagement. A city that is tied into it's success is more sustainable in the long run and attractive to new residents and businesses alike. Building a strong workforce means community building. |
Industrial Development
We work closely with our existing industry to build on the ongoing activity and support their workforce and development needs. When we connect with potential new investment projects, we are looking to build connections that will be mutually beneficial to you and the community. |
Loving Local
If the last few years taught us nothing else it's that supporting local is an important way to build pride of place and St. Thomas thrived during a time when many communities did not. We are #StThomasProud of our local economy and the unique businesses and people who call St. Thomas home. |
