🚧 Fairview Bridge Update: Home Stretch Progress! Join Sarah from St. Thomas Economic Development for another on-site update — this time from the Fairview Bridge project, one of the busiest intersections in the city. Dan Koppert from the City of St. Thomas walks us through the latest progress, what's been uncovered during construction, and what's coming next. 🔧 What’s Happening on Site?
✔️ All underground work is complete 🚗 Roadwork is underway — The project is in the final stretch 🏗️ Crews are pushing forward despite November weather 🕰️ Target completion: Early to Mid December (weather permitting, but our fingers are crossed that this mild weather lasts to get this project wrapped) 🚦 Why This Project Matters The intersection of Fairview and Talbot sees 17,000 vehicles per day — that’s half the city passing through this intersection. The improvements underway will deliver: ✔️Major long-term safety enhancements ✔️Better traffic flow ✔️Improved sight lines coming down Fairview ✔️ Future use of a pedestrian tunnel to connect to the city's trail system. When this is open to the general public in the future, safety features like lighting will be included. And this is just the beginning — upgrades to Talbot Street between First Avenue and Fairview are planned for next year as another phase in improving key corridors across St. Thomas. To stay updated on this project See you next week! 👋
