From the Beehive E109 - Back at the Mega Site

Mike from St. Thomas Economic Development is back with another update from the St. Thomas Mega Site—joined by Nathan Bokma from the City of St. Thomas Industrial Development Team to walk us through the major projects happening across the site.


From new road connections and roundabouts to underground servicing and even rail installation, there’s a lot of progress to share:
🔹 Yarmouth Yards Phase 3 (J-AAR Excavating) – Sanitary and storm sewers, watermains, pond work, and road connections.
🔹 Technology Trail (Amico Infrastructures) – Road construction linking Highway 3 to PowerCo Parkway.
🔹 Northwest Corner (Blue Con Construction) – A brand-new roundabout at Ron McNeil Line & Electric Avenue.
🔹 PowerCo Parcel – Parking lots and paving completed, base asphalt in place throughout the industrial park.
🔹 Rail Spur & Bridge (Amico + PNR) – Rail installation beginning soon!
🔹 Shunting Yard – Grading and stone placement underway.
🔹 Pumping & Booster Stations – Birnham Excavating is working on shoring, foundations, and water main connections.
​It’s been a busy few years, and the momentum isn’t slowing down. From roads to rails, the Mega Site is taking shape as a hub of industry and opportunity!
